♥ Abandoned Love [Review]
Wednesday, April 30, 2008

Story Title: Abandoned Love
Author: ShadowYin
URL: http://www.winglin.net/fanfic/SYabandoned
Reviewer: Cari @ ver-sah-tyle

Title: - 3/5
The title suits most parts of the story, but fit until the end. The words in the title do make readers wonder but it isn't as refreshing.

Poster/Background: - 3/10
It looks nice and doesn't distract from the story. However, the picture and color scheme don't really relate to the story, give insights, or create the right feel.

Forewords: - 6/10
The foreword is interesting and really gives a sense of what the story is about and hooks in the reader. However, there was no characters' names and no setting description. therefore, it created confusion of who's actually where doing what and if you were the person in the story.

Plot: - 12/15
The plot was interesting and really capture the readers' attention and keep them reading in wonder.

Creativity/Originality: - 12/15
Although some parts were expected, the idea was quite original and different from other stories that try to promote the same idea. The way the ideas were written using figurative languages really helped to add to the uniqueness.

Flow: - 8/10
The way the words were strung together was really unique and allowed the story to flow naturally, except for the seven years gap that sped the story up a little.

Spelling/Grammar/Vocabulary: - 9/10
There are no obvious signs of any grammar or spelling distractions. The only word that shouldn't really be used is "Nuh-uh" for it makes the story seem less professional. Other than that, there were some fabulous word choices that really connect the author's imagination with the reader's.

Characterization: - 8/10
The only characterization came from within the story; however, the descriptions were still not enough. Through the characters' actions, readers got to form an opinion of them, but some of the characters' behavior was not as in-depth.

Writing Style: - 9/10
The writing style is a bit different. There are an abundant number of different sentence structures with figurative language, so that the story is not boring and choppy. The descriptive words were nicely used to create images. The one thing to look out for is how sometimes the use of words get a bit repetitive.

Overall Enjoyment: - 4/5
The way the story was written was awesome, providing a different feel to the story and adding to the interest. However, I can guess quite a few parts of the story so it wasn't as suprising.

Sub Total: - 74/100

Bonus: - 2/5
This is for writing the story and encouragement to keep on writing.

Total: - 76/100
